Meet Photographer Janice Hindley

Hello, and welcome!

I took up photography when I retired, and it quickly became a passion. I recently asked my Mom what she thought about this new venture--my photography and now a website.  She said “well you’ve always been creative and had a great imagination.” Thanks Mom.

I love stories.  Stories in books, stories told aloud, and stories that good photographs can tell.

It’s about creating photographs that tell a story and make a connection with the viewer – a personal connection shaped by our own experiences.  Photography, like any art, should elicit an emotional response.  I shoot what resonates with me – whether it’s the beauty and complexity in nature or the unspoken stories in an old barn or abandoned building.  Sometimes, I like to experiment with colour, lighting and clarity to create a photograph that looks more like a painting.  I hope that many of my photographs will resonate with you.

All of my photographs are available as prints and cards.  Each order is individually produced, and can be mounted on canvas, wood, metal or as a print on quality paper.  Cards are available on 100% premium recycled paper.  If there’s something you like, please get in touch using the Form under “Contact” and let’s start a conversation!  Commissions are welcome.

Froghill?  The name came from the old farmhouse north of Kingston, Ontario where my grandmother was born and where I spend much of my time in the summer and fall.
